Quake 3 q3demo1 tests next generation OpenGL performance. To get each score Quake 3 Arena Test 1.08 q3demo1 was run until a consistent score was achieved (usually four times). V-sync was disabled. SE High Quality is High Quality mode running at 1024x768.

As with Quake 2, Quake 3 performance is quite good. With a HQ score in the 50's, Quake 3 is perfectly playable and very nice to look at with the GA660 Plus, a big improvement over the performance of the GA660. Performance is very strong at all quality levels, though things aren't really playable in SEHQ mode due to fill rate limitations. The GA660 and GA660 Plus's performance is virtually identical in Normal Quality mode due to the benchmarks being CPU limited by the PIII 500. It is nice to see video cards that can call a PIII 500 limiting.
