Falcon Northwest turned quite a few industry heads when they announced their Special Edition line of 3D cards. The Falcon Special Edition (SE) Xentor and the Falcon Special EditionVoodoo3 (Voodoo3 3500SE) are at the top of their respective video chip lines and are obviously intended for the more discerning buyer. I guess that's business as usual for Falcon Northwest since they already offer some of the best, and most expensive, gaming rigs in the business. The Special Edition line of 3D cards is obviously their attempt at bringing the same Falcon panache to the video card market.
The Falcon SE Xentor is a very special product, featuring extremely high-end components along with extravagant cooling hardware. Its 195 MHz clock rate is achieved both from using the absolute highest grade TNT2 Ultra chip, along with a TennMax Lasagna for cooling. The SE Xentor also features 4.3 ns memory, complete with strip coolers, and is clocked at an incredible 235 MHz. This makes the Falcon SE Xentor a very distinctive card, and one that was produced in such small quantities and met with such high demand, that it is currently sold out. The Falcon SE Voodoo3 is certainly a powerful card in its own right, but it doesn't approach the all-out excessiveness that characterized the Falcon SE Xentor. Although the Falcon SE Voodoo3 doesn't have the flair of the SE Xentor, Falcon does have these cards in stock, both for individual purchase and as an option in their gaming PCs.
