"Normal" settings for Quake III: Arena Test version 1.08 are: 16-bit color depth, lightmap for lighting, high geometric detail, default texture quality, setting #3 (out of 4) for texture detail and bilinear texture filter. We have chosen to run at 640 x 480, 800 x 600, 1024 x 768, 1280 x 960 and 1600 x 1200 resolutions.

The graph above shows that at "Normal" settings (what most of us actually use), the Annihilator is, at all resolutions, significantly faster then the very respectable TNT2 Ultra. To see a comparison between the increase in raw framerate between the TNT2 Ultra and the Annihilator on different CPUs, check the graph below. Incidentally, this "Normal" setting in Quake III is the only test in which the Pentium III-600MHz had a larger raw FPS increase than the Celeron @ 450MHz.
