With SDR GeForce boards going a dime a dozen we're pleased to see that Absolute Multimedia, a newcomer in the Graphics acceleration arena, have chosen to offer their "Outrageous 3D Graphics GeForce" with DDR SGRAM for a reasonable price of $299 ($285 for the bulk version).

The board in question, which is one of the first products to retail from Absolute Multimedia, packs a full 32Mb of DDR SGRAM clocked at 150MHz (x2 = 300MHz or 301Mhz as reported by both the drivers and PowerStrip) and a PAL/NTSC TV-out decoder (S-video output) in addition to the powerful NVIDIA GeForce 256 processor which is clocked at the standard 120Mhz.

The Outrageous 3D Graphics GeForce is available in both a retail version, and in bulk. The retail version includes (besides the actual hardware) the full version of Drakan, a software DVD player (Intervideo WinDVD), Mp3 software (Match Maker Music Box) and something called "Software Choice" where you'll receive a value certificate that entitles you to free software that you can order via Absolute Multimedia's website (this service was not available in time for our review, instead we received a mail-in coupon with the board). Included with the retail version is a certificate for three free titles and additional titles can be purchased via credit card on the site for prices considerably lower than retail.

So what games are up for grabs then? Actually quite a few nice ones, including our 1999 Game of the Year, Unreal Tournament, Rollcage, Heretic II, SiN, Driver and a half dozen others. The downside? Yes, it might take as long as four weeks until you receive your goods, a real downer if you don't have a nice software library to start with and were expecting a few freebies to play right out of the box.

The bulk version is, as far as the hardware goes, exactly the same as the retail version but the bundle isn't quite as rich, you get the MP3 software but there's no included DVD software and you only get one free "Software Choice" title.
