Well known for their impressive mainboard and peripheral designs, Gigabyte has become a large force in the mainboard industry during the 90's.

Recently Gigabyte's unique Dual-BIOS design, in which they mount a secondary BIOS chip on each of their mainboards in the role of a backup system should the primary BIOS fail, won accolades and the praise of a virus-sensitive buying public.

For their first i820 mainboard, Gigabyte focused on their innovative design strengths and eliminated a few weaknesses that the reference i820 mainboard design from Intel harbors.
