The Force Feedback 2 retains the same jet-black look as its predecessor. It features an improved trigger (it sticks out a bit, the last one didn't), two thumb buttons, a large and comfy hat switch (which is the polar opposite of the odd little pencil-eraser shaped hat last time), four mounted buttons and a much improved levered throttle switch. They removed the shift button (which let you program the mounted buttons, thus doubling the available keys), but come on now, really, did you even use it before? The buttons are also conveniently numbered 1-8, making in-game configuration easier. The stick supports USB only and therefore doesn't support games that don't play nice with Windows 98. Additionally they've also removed the gigantic wall-wart plug, which is a very good thing as you can now plug it anywhere.

It's also durable. While I don't recommend this practice it will survive being picked up by the stick and even being dropped to the floor. It's even strong enough to survive stress tests from newbie gamers who insist on slamming it left, right, forward or back when you set them in a game like Midtown Madness 2.
