So what's the final word on the Gravis Destroyer Tilt? Well, my opinions of it are mixed. On the one hand, the tilt technology is actually surprisingly usable and gets you that extra bit involved in the game (although you might look a bit odd when waggling the joypad around in mid-air). Moving it is no more tiring on your arms than moving a steering wheel since the Destroyer Tilt is so light. Installation is also utterly painless – plug it into the USB port and it works, end of story. The bad points? The aforementioned problem where not all buttons are easily reachable at once and its lesser accuracy compared to a joystick or analogue joypad. Its biggest saving grace is the price tag, sitting at half the cost of the Microsoft Sidewinder Freestyle and leaving it comfortably in "impulse buy" territory. A low price tag is of course no excuse for bad hardware, but the Destroyer Tilt isn't bad by any means. It's solidly built, light and relatively comfortable, although it's no competition for the lovely Gravis Exterminator joypad in that respect. For around 25 bucks it's not a bad joypad if you think you can get used to the funky tilt feature and 6 buttons are enough for you. And face it – playing Motocross Madness 2 by moving a joypad with only one hand (which is all you need for the game) is pretty cool, whichever way you look at it.
