Quantum3D's products are like the "Ferrari's" of the
video card world, both because they slightly outperform the "Corvettes" that their competitors
manufacture (other Voodoo2 card vendors) and mostly due to the exclusivity, uniqueness, and
bragging rights of owning a Quantum3D card.
This brings us up to date for the current card we're looking at today, the X-24 SLI 24MB
Voodoo2 PCI card from Quantum3D.
The X-24 is the
world's only "V2 SLI in One" product. "SLI in One" refers to the fact that Quantum3D has
managed to take the components of two individual 12MB Voodoo2 cards and engineer a single
card solution, providing the same strong SLI performance that readers have seen with other
dual card SLI configurations from other card vendors.
The ability to save a PCI slot at any cost cannot be overlooked. Only now with the recent
introduction of the Abit BH6 mainboard have we seen a 440BX product from one of the "top five"
board manufacturers debut with 5 PCI slots. Otherwise, the 440BX landscape is fairly bleak
with a few exceptions, as even ASUS hasn't debuted a 5 PCI slot model yet (although rumors
abound online about a new ASUS board offering 5 PCI slots).
