We realize that the part of this review everyone's waiting for are the benchmarks. Without further delay, let's introduce you to the machine we tested the X-24 on:

  • Intel P2-400 CPUs
  • Abit BX6 440BX Mainboard
  • Goldstar 128MB PC-100 SDRAM (Part# GMM2649233CTG-7J)
  • Matrox Millennium G200 AGP 16MB Card
  • (2) x Diamond Monster3D II 12MB Voodoo2 Cards
  • Adaptec 2490UW Ultra-Wide SCSI Controller
  • IBM Ultrastar 9 8.4GB UWSCSI HD
  • Diamond Monster Sound MX200 3D PCI Sound Card
  • Plextor SCSI 32X CD-ROM
  • Win95 OSR 2.1
Test Conditions and Specifications: All tests were run a total of three times with the results averaged to determine final score. VSYNCH was OFF for both cards, allowing maximum frame rate performance. All Voodoo2 cards were set to a core/memory speed of 100MHz. DX5 and DX6 were used on both cards for all tests, and produced no appreciable differences. The recent multitexturing support patch was enabled for all of the Unreal benchamrks and produced results up to 30% higher with both Voodoo2 cards than when not installed. The Quake2 "Crusher" Timedemo is used with permission by Brett "3 Fingers" Jacobs
