This issue of the Private Eye could be dubbed "All I want for Christmas…" as we take a look at the hottest stocking fillers available for PC nuts and gamers alike. I'd also like to devote the later part of this issue to the recent events of our acquisition by internet.com and take time out to thank Sharky Extreme readers and other friends of the site in this large bubble of an Internet community.

First up, here's my top ten list of things that I reckon any PC fanatic would dearly love to find in his/her gift pile. For those of you that have not yet done your shopping, think of this list as a few pointers for that 'last minute' shopping madness. No hard core PC gaming system would be complete without the fastest 3D accelerator on the block. Likely to be top of many a gamer's wish list is a GeForce 256 DDR 3D accelerator, which indeed holds the current title of the "fastest 3D card money can buy". Creative's 3D Annihilator Pro is priced at $319 and unlike the regular Annihilator, which comes with SDRAM, the 'Pro' comes with DDR (double data rate) SGRAM set to 300MHz for even more bandwidth.

Similarly, Guillemot's 3D Prophet is priced at $299.99 (after a $20 mail-in rebate). Although boards are not available everywhere yet, they have shipped and you can pre-order them from the likes of EB-World.
