Pentium II 400Mhz benchmarks

- Intel P2-300, P2-400 CPUs
- Abit BX6 440BX Mainboard
- Corsair 128MB 10ns PC-100 SDRAM
- Adaptec 2490UW Ultra-Wide SCSI Controller
- IBM Ultrastar 9 8.4GB UWSCSI HD
- Diamond Monster Sound MX200 3D PCI Sound Card
- Plextor SCSI 32X CD-ROM
- Win95 OSR 2.1
Test Conditions and Specifications: All tests were run a total of three times with the results averaged to determine final score. VSYNCH was OFF for both cards, allowing maximum frame rate performance. DX5 and DX6 Beta were used on both cards for all tests, and produced no appreciable differences. As per Cyrellis' standard testing policy, Quake II and any other OpenGL benchmarks were omitted from the test due to lack of an acceptable driver on the part of the manufacturer.
Surprisingly, none of the benchmarks above show any large differences between the two cards, even
in 2D where the superior RAMDAC of the Millenium G200 should assert itself. There was a noticeable
difference in the refresh rates that the two cards were able to attain at the Herculean 1600x1200
resolution. At that res, the Millenium G200 was able to hit a very eyeball pleasing 90Hz, while we
could get the Mystique G200 to hit a maximum of 80Hz.
Actually, the results above do the average PC user a favor by making the Mystique G200 the easy
and perfect choice for the majority of potential buyers. Only those users who demand the highest refresh rates possible
in order to endure serveral continuous hours of 2D work (CAD for example) should choose the
Millenium G200 as their card.
