Since we're using the term "Value," you obviously know we're not going to be building the Omega Supreme PC here. Sorry, no towering ultra-powerful behemoth today. However, we're also not going to build the Rumble of PCs. But, this is no slouch of a computer. Instead, think of our Value Gaming PC as the pocket rocket of computers. While not the fastest PC we can build, it's quick, agile, and has a can-do attitude when it comes to PC gaming. We design this PC to get the most out of every single dollar.

And so we bring you the Sharky Extreme Value PC Gaming PC Buyer's Guide, which has our recommendations for our cost conscious readers who still demand performance. The Value Gaming PC, which we will talk about today, has a budget of $1500. When choosing parts for this system, we look for the best trade-off between price and performance. This is not an entry-level system; this is a serious gaming machine as well as a serious value. Yes, the object of this exercise might be to cut as many corners as possible but just don't knock it because like the budgie, it's "cheap"!

Please read on to get our recommendations for a top notch machine that stretches each dollar to the max.

w/300W 12amp Power Supply

Current Cost: $55 (case + 300W power supply)

The Enlight 7237 ATX case has been in our Buyer's Guide for a long time, and with good reason. It offers solid construction (which the Constructicons love) and several drilled holes in both the front and the back of the chassis, which aid in any attempt to overclock a CPU or video card. The case is also well laid out, allowing full access to all areas of your motherboard even when the 3.5" drive bays are filled.

A 300W power supply is another must have, especially for those considering a power hungry Athlon processor. The Enlight 7237 is available from several online vendors, bundled with a 300W power supply, for about $55. That is a great bargain.

On a side note, each month like clockwork we get a few letters saying that the case is not available with a 300W supply for $55. A quick check on the Pricewatch.com search engine with "7237 300" in the search field will give you plenty of low-cost options.
