Diamond's Stealth Savage4 will most likely come in the following configuration upon the time of its release sometime in April (we say "likely" because the specifications could change slightly between now and then):
- Savage4 Pro Graphics Processor
- 143MHz Memory clock, 125MHz Core clock
- 16MB SDRAM
- AGP 4X Support
- Texture Compression Supporting Game Bundle (2 games)
- $100 - $129 Street Price
We're confident after talking to Diamond and S3 that a street price of $99 is possible for the Stealth Savage4, which would make it a sharp bargain in the 16MB AGP card arena.
The game bundle for the Steath Savage4 hasn't been announced yet, but Sharky Extreme has heard through the grapevine that it could include special Texture Compressed versions of the Half-Life Day One demo as well as a full version of San Francisco Rush: The Rock.
We've previously seen Half-Life up and running with high level texture maps that go beyond what a Voodoo2 or Voodoo3 can handle, and it looked absolutely insane. S3 is really bolstering game developer support for the new format that goes beyond just a press release's lip-service.
