Let's go over these stats, as they're easy to misunderstand or confuse.
First, the APIs supported by the MX300 are amazing. The A3D and A3D 2.0 formats are a given since this is an Aureal-based product. The MS DirectSound and DirectSound3D APIs are also a given, as any halfway decent sound card has to support them for the buying audience to believe in the product.
What's really nice to see though is the EAX extensions of MS DirectSound3D being fully supported via hardware, so MX300 owners won't ever be left out in the cold regarding a lack of 3D-audio support in any game/title for 1999.
The game's got A3D 2.0 support? Fine, the MX300 is good to go. The game's only got A3D 1.0 support? No problem, fire it up since the MX300 fully supports the older 3D API. MS DirectSound or MS DirectSound EAX in the game's repertoire? Boom, the MX300 doesn't even break a sweat.
