By: Terminal Reality, Inc.

One of the most exciting Gathering of Developers (g.o.d.) titles for 1999 could possibly be Nocturne by Terminal Reality, Inc. Nocturne will be set in the 1930s and you'll take up the role of a leader of a clandestine group hunting down ghosts, vampires et. al. By meshing some RPG elements with full-on action and gibs, TRI certainly look like having more than a master plan. With an advanced 32-bit rendering 3D engine, Nocturne should end up looking the part (check out the new and awesome looking shots). With that in mind we figured we'd do the right thing by interviewing Mark Randel, President of TRI, co-founder, Lead Programmer and head of Nocturne.

Can you tell us a bit about yourselves and what Terminal Reality has done before please?

Terminal Velocity (PC Games Action Game of the Year 1995), Fury3, Monster Truck Madness, Hellbender, CART Precision Racing (Computer Gaming World Sports Game of the Year 1997), Monster Truck Madness 2 (First Photex2 game.)
Why will Nocturne be so special when stacked up against all the other 3D first person action/adventure games? Is it more of an adventure game than an action game?

Nocturne has a plot. It is an "action quest" type game. The gameplay is just not killing monsters or bad guys. You'll interact with NPC's and accomplish tasks and solve puzzles. Okay, you'll also get to blow away monsters too.
