Both officers control the action from Armored Personnel Carriers (APCs) that can transport troops and repair damaged units. Each mission begins with a briefing that outlines the current objectives to be met and resistance to be fought. After the instructions have been given, you configure the dropship(s) that will be taking your squads of units to the surface and the squads themselves. These squads consist of infantry units (Marines, Crusaders, and sub-classes), tanks (Terradynes, Hoverdynes), and fighter planes (Aerodynes).

The interface is simply outstanding. The camera is free-floating and can be moved all over the map horizontally with the arrow keys while Page Up and Page Down control where it goes vertically. Aside from a few problems with obstructive fronds in a few jungle maps, this system works perfectly. You can quickly and painlessly pan to virtually any angle on the battlefield. We're a long way from Force Commander here, folks. Units are controlled through standard mouse commands that require nothing more than knowledge of how to click and drag to master. The only drawback is slow, DOS-like cursor speed and the occasional need to click on a unit twice for the command to register - not fun when a major furball is blowing up all around you.
