Motocross Madness 2 is all about being the best with a motorbike in a series of different events. Are these motorbikes armed with miniguns and heat-seeking missiles to give you the edge in combat? No. Not even a scythed wheel in sight? No. In fact, call me shallow, but for a game where the only injuries you'll sustain are from crashes rather than enemy weapons, Motocross Madness 2 is almost too much fun.
There are a number of different events to partake in. Here's a quick look at the different events:
I'm still trying to work out how to pronounce this one without making it sound silly. Anyway, Baja is a race event involving driving through checkpoints set on wide tracks through rolling terrain. It's a nice, easy event to start out on with just enough hills high enough to take to the air from, which can only be good news.
The Stunts event is far and away the most entertaining event in the game. Play involves finding the nearest or -- even better -- tallest hill, speeding up and over it and doing a stunt or three before hitting the ground again. Stunts are easy to pull off; you just pull the joystick in a certain direction and press one of two buttons. It takes a little practice to become competent but in no time at all you'll be pulling of insane stunts to get the adrenaline going just as well as any session of Unreal Tournament would. The first time I scored over 10,000 for a single stunt was simply exhilarating, not to mention the time I flew above some overhead power lines and managed to land on a freight train (admittedly by pure luck).
