Between races, when you're buying parts to upgrade your racer, you can listen to Watto grumble about what a horrible customer you are. And it's hilarious to hear Watto humming something from the Max Rebo Band. The music, which is straight from the films, is wonderful too. The iMUSE system for dynamic soundtracks isn't used, but wouldn't work in a racer anyway. The sound is, as we said, just wonderful.

The biggest flaw in Episode I Racer is the lack of Internet play. There is IPX network play, but no net play. We hope they make a patch to add net play at some point.

Do you have what it takes to defeat the skilled and sneaky Sebulba? Freaky fast racing on good looking and inspired levels make Star Wars: Episode I Racer a stellar game. The action is mind-numbingly fast. The game play will keep you sitting and playing till your butt is numb as well. If you love pure arcade style racing, this is the game to get! The Star Wars universe aspect just makes it even better. We just wish we could play it over the Internet. Bravo LucasArts!

Think we're exactly right? Think we're full of it and need to get stuffed? Tell us! Write to Jon "Hardnose" Simon.
