The Doc is your archetypal mad scientist. His only weapon is a toaster and some sliced bread (how's that for inventiveness) although this slowly improves to become a radioactive toaster that can fire missile-like French Sticks and Pumpernickel which works like a small mortar. Not only is he deadly with wheat-based projectiles but he's also a genius at solving puzzles. When the action switches to the Doc you'll have to do things like defuse huge bombs by hitting buttons in the right order and combine items to create new ones like a ladder and even a leaf blower depending on the items available and the situation at hand.
And then there is Max, canine super hero supreme. Each of his four paws can hold a weapon and as he can accumulate chainguns, shotguns, missile launchers and even ray guns this makes Max one heavily armed adversary indeed. To keep you on your toes when playing Max, in spite of this vast arsenal, MDK2 throws a lot of enemies at you, but that just makes it all the more fun to blast your way through them. Bioware also provided Max with a jet pack in parts of the game, which is also great fun to use in combination with his guns. Have you noticed us mention the word "fun" a bit too much here? Well, there's a very good reason for that...
