This take on Alice In Wonderland is unconventional to say the least, yet it still falls into a somewhat formulaic action adventure title. American McGee's Alice may be a love-it or hate-it game, but is certainly recommended as something to experience for any adventure gamer. Playing through the levels demonstrates the thought that went into every detail of the game. It is the small things such as the endless columns of books that go into infinity above and below the suspended library of a children's school to the Escher-like checkerboard world of the “Pale Realm” and other levels of the queen's wonderland that Alice must traverse through that make the game worth checking out for adventure gamers. Additionally, fans of Carroll's work, as well as those looking for another rather traditional adventure game – albeit with a lot of violent sequences – should enjoy spending a few hours inside the mind of this troubled young girl.
