Players will also be able to spend these resources on a number of different things. There are of course the usual buildings and units to build, and lots of them at that. The Accursed are the living dead and so have access to such basic units such as Zombie Thralls, Skeletal Slashers and Spectral Archers. Beyond these core troops they have access to several powerful and creative units such as the Blightstone, a magically created unit capable of raising the dead, powerful magic users known as Shade Tyrants with their powerful Leaping Blight spell and the ability to summon such powerful entities as the Tainted Wisp and the Fell Dragon. The Accursed even have their own transport unit in the form of the floating Ghost Ship. Before some of these units can be created, special buildings have to be built (as you'd expect in a real time strategy title). For instance a Node Focus must be constructed before Necromancers or Shade Tyrants can be summoned, and an Infernal Hive must be made if you wish to summon swarms of Infernal Locusts.
The Dark Elves have an equally large number of diverse units and buildings available to aid them in their war efforts. The Gremlin Cavalier comes equipped with an arc spear, a weapon tipped with deadly energy bolts. This already effective unit can also mount a war beast called a Moor Moag, extending both his speed and the range of the energy bolts of his arc spear so that it becomes an effective ballistic weapon. Amongst the more powerful units available to the dark Elves is the Dark Elven Dame. While none of her spells are immediately damaging, she excels at supporting the efforts of other troops, either by casting the enhancing Rage spell on them, or hindering the efforts of their enemies by casting Blindness on them or slowing them down with the Agony spell. Other Dark Elf powerful magic users include the Cablist, an expert at summoning creatures such as the power Chaos Djinn, and the Warlock with his devastating spells Shrapmetal and Cataclysm. Of course, details on the third race are scarce, although a little more about them is revealed in the interview that will appear tomorrow and the day after in two parts.
