Mark our words, Giants will be bloody huge (excuse the pun though). Why? Well, Planet Moon Studios knows how to sew their oats when it comes to making innovative and technologically ground breaking games. In fact, they're all ex-Shiny employees and therefor the very same and talented team behind the rather risqué MDK (3D accelerated too), which still brings a smile to many a gamer's face. Their first project, Giants, is expected to be that bit more advanced than MDK. As a 3D action adventure game, which will of course be accelerated for 3D cards (via D3D) to the max, the 3D engine will allow for deformable landscapes (across some 40 worlds) and the freedom to not only move but also utilize objects.

Giants' scenario is an 'odd' one but here it goes… set on an environment 'floating' through space called Dorlon, the area is protected by Kabuto, the not-so 'jolly' giant. However, two other non-human life forms, the Sea Reapers and the Meccaryns also inhabit Dorlon. But in Dorlon's case three's certainly NOT company, each of the three species wants Dorlon to itself. I think you're starting to get the picture? Giants sets out its stall as a three-sided all-out-war, giving you the freedom to choose to play any one of the three different inhabitants, each with their own strengths and weakness. Giants could also posses a strong hook by being the real McCoy when it comes to multiplayer mayhem across the NET or a LAN. Carnage will be plentiful (a good thing) and Planet Moon Studios has stated that during battle you'll be able to do all sorts of 'charming' and 'tasty' skullduggery. Eating, burning, drowning, kidnapping and burying your victims should all be in a day's work within Giants. Smashing eh? But it won't all be about brawn because the use of a brain will be required to invent and then use weapons, vehicles and/or traps.

Planet Moon Studios has slated in a Q1 1999 release and the game will be published by Interplay. We'll keep you posted but in the meantime be sure to gaze at the three very tasty shots below donated by Planet Moon Studios. The first shot is a picture of Kabuto, the second is Baz, the main Meccaryn leader. The third shot shows off the Smartie Pub (the Smartie Village Pub), which is where the 'Smarties' like to relax by having a few homemade brews.
