I usually wouldn't be too inclined on finding out what a four-person operation based in South Central LA could come up with. However, hailing from the midst of the 'hood and working on a 3D blaster are my pals over at Mango Grits- a four-person development team. Thus I'll make an exception. Barrage has been in the works for two years and its arcade gameplay shoots for blasting/dodging enemies and beating the clock, whilst attaining a high score. Piloting your craft in assaults above land, below the sea and/or in Forsaken style tunnels across five scenarios will be the order of the day. These include Prairie, Tunnel, Canyon, Downtown Chicago (which looks particularly scintillating and pisses all-over G-Police) and Ocean (which has a Shark in it!).

A 3Dfx card will no longer be essential, as a D3D version has already been implemented for all 3D cards. At its best, you can expect to immerse yourself in Barrage's sleek real-time 3D environments, at a pixel-perfect 1024x768 resolution, in 16-bit colour and at over 40 frames per second. Grabs you by the bollocks doesn't it? It doesn't stop there; if you' harbour a Force Feedback fetish, then you'll be pleased to know that said play tool has been implemented for your waggling pleasure.

Since Mango Grits have now signed on the dotted line with Activision our boy Anders, will be following this news piece up with a preview shortly. And since he's a porn-star in Sweden, he'll give you the 'Full Monty'. In the mean time take a look at some D3D accelerated in game shots.
