With Rebellion Studios' Aliens Vs. Predator, it's time for something just a little different. At this year's E3, we checked out Aliens Versus Predator, due out this month from Fox Interactive and UK developer, Rebellion.
The game lets you take on the role of Alien, Predator or Marine (you know, those little boys in "Aliens"). Each race has its own pros and cons, unique abilities and weapons. Aliens, for example, have to rely on stealth and speed as they are limited to teeth, claws and tail to take down their opponents while Marines pack big arsenals of machine guns, grenade launchers and flame throwers. The Predator has a little laser thingy mounted on his shoulder and can deploy stealth tactics thanks to his camouflage. The Alien however has the great advantage of being able to run up walls, upside down on the ceiling and through ventilation shafts.
The game features over 40 environments including spaceships, alien temples, caverns and more. The Direct3D accelerated game engine supports particle effects, deformable environments and lots more. The game offers a wide range of multiplayer modes and features three unique "campaigns" for the single player (one for each race) and some very tricky gameplay. Aliens versus Predator will no doubt be something out of the ordinary.
