Vehicle construction is superbly done, you can set rally points for each individual factory and construct any number of units by commanding it only once, and you can even mix types. Even better, when you have multiple factories you don't have to jump between them, you just select an icon on the menu and you're presented with a list, click the factory you want and select what to build.

Researching is pretty much the same but of course you can't command a lab to research several technologies as new ones often appear when you have researched something.

Resources are gathered in a similar fashion to Total Annihilation: By finding resources and mining them from the ground. As in any RTS, resources are critical for your survival and controlling them is a key to success.

As far as unit control goes it's the same ol same ol, you select your units and tell them where to go or what to attack. You can set behavior on a unit by unit basis, you can have them fight to the bitter end or retreat when damaged, pursue the enemy, stand their ground or patrol a selected path.

One very appreciated feature is that unlike most other games of this type you don't have to start from scratch each time a mission ends but rather you maintain your units and base from previous missions throughout the campaign which means that your success in one mission directly affects your chances in later ones.
