The following is satire and does not necessarily reflect the opinions of SharkyExtreme or Internet.com, it may not even reflect reality.

They Break the News, I Break it Again!

A career ruined due to Froginators and Ultimate Gas Hands? An artist fired in a fit of pique by a bully named... Adrian? A few hotly anticipated games are coming and rampant commercialism threatens us all. Oh, and I discover conclusive proof that I should be making a lot more Star Trek jokes. This and more in this week's episode!

According to a John Carmack penned .plan file located at Blue's News industry antagonist and artist extraordinaire Paul Steed has been fired from Id Software. What's disturbing about this was apparently Adrian Carmack (no relation) and Kevin Cloud fired Steed in retaliation for losing a power struggle over Id Software's next game.

As the always photogenic John Carmack put it: "Kevin and Adrian fired Paul Steed in retaliation, over my opposition." He went on to say that "Paul has certainly done things in the past that could be grounds for dismissal, but this was retaliatory for him being among the 'conspirators.'" This conclusively proves a few things: 1) John Carmack isn't as powerful as he probably should be over there. 2) The wrong person was fired. Adrian opposed the new project and now everyone should hate him (see below for what the new project is). 3) Even John Carmack himself has trouble-spelling Wolfenstein: "Wolfenstien" and he made the game. I shouldn't feel so bad, then.

Game reviewers will always remember Paul Steed for one typically incoherent column that he wrote at Loonygames where he defied all sense and logic in a silly little diatribe against game reviewers. Since his work on Quake III is one of the highlights of that game, the art is fantastic, expect him to land somewhere soon.

The man, the myth, the unemployed

Oh, the game they are working on is a remake of some game called Doom. But nobody's heard of that game, so it really isn't important to the story, is it?
