That whacked-out professor at the University of Irvine, California (where I grew up, incidentally) is once again pitching a Gaming Minor to the Dean of the school. The course work would include playing lots and lots of computer games, a bit of programming, learning about the industry and other game related concepts. "Even though it sounds like a lot of fun, it's also going to be extremely rigorous and demanding," Professor Nideffer said in a statement to Wired Magazine.

I'll tell you this; if it happens, expect to be fragged by “Professor KrewlD0od” next time you play some Quake. And if it does happen, I demand an honorary degree.

“I'm sorry, I'm sooo sorry…”

Project Overdrive from Buka Entertainment Put on Hold

'Nuff said.

Gold

Oni: A game in the tradition of Final Fight and Double Dragon, but not in the tradition of Bad Dudes.

Released

Carnivores: Ice Age: Big, furry, saber-toothed game hunting.

America: They've all come, to look for Amer-ica.

Kingdom Under Fire: Take two parts Warcraft add one part Diablo and shake vigorously.

Airfix Dogfighter: Fly model planes and dogfight in somebody's living room.

Announced

The Thing: John Carpenter's excellent remake of a 1950's classic is getting the game treatment, they say. Once again, Antarctic explorers will meet the Thing with no name. Heat up the needles and draw the blood 'cause the paranoia bus leaves tonight!
