The non-Election-result grind continues and I, mostly, keep my promise and ignore it. LucasArts reveals some Star Wars details, sort of, and the insanity that is the annual CODIES arrives just in time to provide filler. Oh, some games came out and others went gold and we've got a special anniversary to celebrate.
Game Quote of the Week: "Sometimes when it's quiet, I can still hear the monkeys." ~ Guybrush Threepwood, Escape from Monkey Island
Last week LucasArts managed to piss off every single PC game fan, all of us, by canceling Obi Wan for the PC. In an inspired bit of spin control they've released the name and a few specs regarding their upcoming online only Star Wars: Galaxies developed by some company called Verant Interactive. I sure hope this Verant company knows what it's getting into, it's tough making an online RPG you know.
I plan on portraying an ultra rare “Tall Blue Snaggletooth” in the game. I'm going to run around spouting lines from Star Trek (“this ‘Force' isn't logical!”) and telling everyone that I'm their father or that they “…are not a Jedi yet.” I'll do that and I plan on making the Kessell run as slow as I feel like, with the blinker on the whole time. I also plan on visiting Toshi Station too, I dunno, maybe I'll pick up some power converters. Don't forget to join us when we “Camp the Rancor!” Hehe, Star Wars fans are renowned for having a really good sense of humor about their obsessions? Right?
Interplay's excellent Sacrifice features none other than that sweet transvestite, Gabriel Knight voicing, star of stage and screen, Mr. Tim Curry, who was hilariously menacing as the big red devil in Legend. I'm not certain who he plays but my best guess is that it must be Charnel, god of destruction and death. Sounds like him anyway.
