Only a few news stories this week (Jedi Dead, Politics, MNF and Releases & Golds) so I shall use this opportunity to get in touch with my good side. The side that wears a white hat and secretly thinks the next game SouthPeak Interactive releases will be the “good” one. The slightly less sarcastic side. The Jekyll if you consider the usual Beatdown style to be in any way Hyde-like. After all, it's difficult to grouse with a belly full of turkey and beer.

People still speak reverently about the awesome Dark Forces 2: Jedi Knight. Frankly, if it weren't for Half-Life, we'd think of JK as Half-Life. Or at least we'd think of it as “Rune-with-Gameplay,” which is actually how I do think of it. So, despite the fact Obi Wan was to be 3rd person and ignoring the fact that it was going to be based on the Phantom Menace, and it was going to follow the plot of the Phantom Menace (yawn), it turns out this was indeed not the Jedi we were looking for.

No, this isn't a Jedi Mind Trick in action. Obi Wan for the PC has been completely canceled. LucasArts, citing “higher quality standards,” slashed it a body blow with its red saber and now all that remains is an empty robe. An empty robe and the shattered dreams of many a PC gaming fan. They say Obi Wan will appear exclusively on a “high end console” to be determined later. Ahem… Xbox [coff]… Xbox…

“Meesa no like getting crunched!”
