The Christian Right quickly mobilized to protest the newly released SUV racing simulator 4X4: Evolution from developer Terminal Reality and distributor GoD (Gathering of Developers).

“The sports utility vehicle (SUV) didn't ‘evolve' miraculously over time,” explained Pastor Shawn Joseph Strand of the Creationist Vehicular Church. “According to the Bible, they were created in perfect form exactly 6000 years ago.”

Dr. Linda Anne Denison, head of the Institute for the Study of SUVs, begs to differ: “There is far more evidence for evolution. Think about the link between the military Jeep of 1944 and the four-wheel drive vehicles of today. The road clearance, the roll bar, the full-sized spare tire and the ability to tackle whatever life throws at you are shared traits. Not to mention the extensive fossil record found at any American junkyard or Used Car Lot.”

“We don't mind the 4X4: Evolution game existing, but it should be clearly labeled for what it is: a theory,” said Strand. “We just think it's ironic that a company named GoD could be this morally lax. Where is 4X4: Creationism?”
