This past week I had the pleasure of playing with the technologically frustrating Crimson Skies, caring for my sick wife and also caring for my sick five-month-old daughter. I can't honestly say which of us spent the week screaming louder. Yet the news marches relentlessly onward toward the Christmas season. The MMORPG persistent world universe has been abuzz for a week now over the actions of a tasteless gamer named Mystere and the thought police over at Verant and Sony. The story in brief goes like this: Mystere was inspired by the evil, torturous and murderous dark elf character class to write a tasteless work of fiction which detailed what appeared to be the rape of a “girl of 14 seasons.”
