What do you call an underwater game starring three sides, all at war, with different tech trees, strategies and motives? What do you say when this game takes place in a 3D space yet is a 2D game? What do you call it when the game features multiple resources to mine and units to build? You call it Starcraft, and you marvel at how well it is made. Alternatively you can also call it Submarine Titans and wonder why they made it at all. Sub Titans is not a bad game so much as it's a tired game surrounded by better games. Not only is it all washed up, it is flotsam surrounded by much better RTS fare. Heh, just when you thought it was safe to go back to the water....
Macrovision Corporation just announced that CD's will soon be safer, pirates will be further foiled and that consumers of electronic PC games will likely become even more annoyed than ever before with their new SafeDisc 2.0 system. We are all very familiar with SafeDisc 1.0 aren't we? It's the reason why your games must be in the drive at all times. It's the reason why it takes an extra 30-55 seconds for the game to start. Hell, for many people it's the reason why their games don't work at all in their CD-ROM drives! All this trouble to prevent pirates from copying games and distributing them... is it all worth it? I know Macrovision thinks so, but I'm betting pirates will have 2.0 cracked by next week at the earliest.
