They Break the News, I Break it Again!

It's Labor Day, right? A day of rest for the unproductive American worker. So what the hell am I doing working? Actually I'm on vacation in Florida. So, why am I writing this? Because my devotion to you and my nose for PC news is so strong, I just can't stay away. Also, I doubt many people consider what I do "work." My wife doesn't, my parents don't. Heck, Sharky barely does! Anyway, we're heading toward the cold weather of Autumn and school is starting but it's all good because that means football season (no not "footie," I mean that American gridiron spectacle). Come on in and read… bring padding though, ok?

Quote of the Week: "Well Mr. Schwang, if that is your real name..." ~Dr. Hawkins from MDK2

Microsoft Corporation announced that it has invested quite heavily into Big Huge Games of Hunt Valley, Maryland. Big Huge Games was formed when Brian Reynolds suddenly abandoned his Jedi training with the wizened Sid Meier. "Once I was but the learner, now I will be the master," the bearded game designer was heard to exclaim as he did a triple flip and nabbed his lightsaber in mid air. Then he bounded for freedom, finally stopping some five miles away to set up shop.

Reynolds, under Meier, almost singlehandedly created Sid Meier's Colonization, Sid Meier's Civilization II and Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri. He was lead playtester for Sid Meier's Gettysburg and was project lead for the inception of the coming Sid Meier's Civilization III. Reynolds also co-founded Sid Meier's Firaxis games and once, reportedly, washed Sid Meier's car.
