Bullfrog has announced that it has pulled the plug on Dungeon Keeper 3 despite the popularity of the series. The game design team will focus on upcoming PSX2 products. Meanwhile most of the game's monsters are in negotiations to join with the Warcraft 3 project over at Blizzard. Don't cry for DK's Imps or Horned Reaper character, either. The Imps can be seen in Icewind Dale starring as goblins and the Horned Reaper was Diablo's stunt double in the wildly successful Diablo II.

FOX Interactive also announced that it has cancelled its games based on the hoped-to-be lucrative, but in reality not, Titan AE license.

PCGamer announced this month that the 80's cult classic Highlander is going to get the PC gaming treatment from Kalisto Entertainment. For those not in the know, Highlander tells the story of a man with an Austrian accent (Christopher Lambert) who plays a Scottish Highlander who meets a man with a Scottish accent who plays an Egyptian Spaniard named Ramirez. These two fight a large Russian with a bass American accent to the death with the winner ending the story once and for all: "There can be only one!" Somehow this finite tale generated a TV series and two horrible movie sequels. Now we can add a game to the list.

United Development Studios (UDS) has secured the coveted license to the French comic character Asterix. Infogrames is to be the publisher and the game should ship to… anxious… fans sometime in early 2001. Asterix concerns the misadventures of a wacky barbarian in the Roman province of Gaul (France) and that heady time period known as the"Olden Days."
