Which is lamentable given Bungie's roots and tremendous support for Apple in the past. But it's also sort of funny if you think about Steve Job's iGames unveiling last year and how he wowed the crowd with that stupendous Halo jeep movie.

"Will PC owners get their hands on the keys?"

A company called Broadband Studios (BBS) has acquired the rights to publish PC games based on MTV programming. Expect Sims clones based on The Real World and Road Rules and crap games based on other crap shows. Wouldn't this announcement have been much cooler back when they had Aeon Flux on that channel? Anyway, since it's based on MTV programming, don't expect anything based on anything remotely music video related.

(First reported in Gameweek) It seems Eidos is in a bit of trouble as it has been shipping $10 rebate coupons to online retailer GameCave.com. The problem is that other online retailers weren't told of this and Eidos happens to own a stake in the company that owns GameCave. Nice huh? Especially angry are Daikatana buyers who now realize they could have purchased the terrible game for a cheaper price. "I could have had this piece of steaming crap for less?" exclaimed Shawn Strand of Orange County, CA. Eidos has vowed to discontinue the coupon, but noted it was refreshing to get coupon related complaints rather than the usual complaints and flame mail regarding the game.

In related news, Daikatana, which debuted on PCData at number 10 for the week of its release slipped to number 15 for the week of 6/4/00. Quite an impressive showing for such a terrible game. Congratulations again Mr. Romero, remember, the more people who buy it the fewer will buy the next one. Your rep would be better served by your game disappearing without a trace.
