Yes folks, for the week of its debut, John Romero gets to point at all of us and laugh as his baby lands squarely at the number 10 position on the fabled PCData list. I'd like to personally congratulate John Romero and his team for proving once and for all that old adage: "There's no such thing as bad press." We reviewers (myself included) may have hated the game, but name recognition won out in the end, perhaps proving definitively that nobody listens to us anyway. Enjoy your victory Mr. Romero, but make the next game better please.

NOTE: It bears mentioning that Eidos didn't send out press copies of the game before its debut. All reviews were delayed at least a week (assuming the reviewer finished the game - which they should have done). Therefore it's actually Daikatana's 2nd week performance that really matters. Stay tuned next week, folks!

Sony lay in wait for hours waiting for the fabled Verant Cash Cow to respawn. When it finally did, the massive conglomerate pounced and nabbed the game developer with little to no real struggle. "It was no contest really, Sony's character was easily level 50," explained fellow camper Shawn "Razirian Quienest-Kaa" Strand.

"Verant's experience point value is tremendous at this time," claimed several prominent marketing analysts. "Especially given the fact that Verant's next game is to be a Star Wars version of EverQuest."

"Be gentle, sweet Sony"
