Average. If one word were to describe KISS: Psycho Circus – The Nightmare Child, "average" is it. When you consider that it's a game based on a comic book based on a band that was showing its age and becoming horribly tiresome years ago it isn't all that bad a game and could have admittedly been a lot worse. When you then consider that the developers, Third Law, are largely formed from ex-Daikatana team members it's practically a miracle that the game is in fact any good, although at least they were sensible enough to leave Ion Storm before Daikatana was complete. The levels are pretty well designed, the weapons are pretty satisfying and killing the enemies is, well, pretty satisfying too. What more can I say? If you're looking to blast hordes upon hordes of enemies like you did in Doom then until Serious Sam arrives this is likely going to be your best bet. It's hardly a bad game, just don't expect much in the way of originality and you won't be disappointed.
- The setting and characters are refreshingly different compared to your average Rambo types and enemy grunts
- There are hordes of enemies to blast if that's your kind of thing
- Can get a little repetitive
