Damn, right now i dont really care who wins. just finish it! the sad truth is who ever wins will be considered an imposter and with the house and senate tied up neither will be able to put forth an agenda. get ready for four yrs of stagnation. Nerf

I disagree. I believe after a short period of not rocking the boat the next president [Bush] will set out to prove he deserves to be there. I'm looking towards a great deal of progress, economic and otherwise over the next four years.

Is this what they meant by Y2K compliant? This election is the going to turn into another O.J. trial. Gore has pushed Clintonism and Burecrate to the next level.

maybe we need a standardized ballot...like our tax forms. now there a thought, just think how easy that would be! this is exactly why the feds may step in. Florida, get your shit together or we'll have some idiot in DC doing your job for you and counting your votes. is that what you want? didnt think so. Nerf

You should care, 'cause whoever is selected are our next Prez will determine whether or not we act like world police.Bush = Good Algore = Bad I don't know about you, but it would piss me off if a bunch of French soldiers came over here and start policing like it was their business. I can just imagine how the rest of the world feels when we do it. Helping out other countries in wartime is one thing, but constantly sticking our nose where is doesn't belong is quite another. By the way, I'm U.S. Army, so don't think I'm talking out of my ass. quote:Originally posted by slipgun: I couldn't care less cuz I don't live in the USA!

A standardized ballot would be a great idea (at least, the format would be standardized). The one here in Texas is great. It's a simple bubble form (similar to scantrons).

It's a simple bubble form (similar to scantrons). We have the eletronic machines here. Kinda like the buttons on a microwave. Just triple check before you hit enter. The polling people open the back of machines up when it is over and look at the number next to the name. They then call out the number 4 times before it is written down. There are 4 people at each machine reading. I think it probably the best way.

heres the deal, Gore is trying to delay the certification with law suits revotes and what ever else it takes so that the electoral college meets and Floridas 25 votes are non-commited. at such time Gore wins due to his lead at the present time. trust me, Davis Boies is there for a reason, he single handedly brought down Microsoft for the Justice Dept. and is considered by most to be the best trial lawyer of our day. the Florida Legislature will have to step in and certify the votes prior to the Electoral College meeting or its over. it is unclear if this cert can be blocked by the courts. its a mess, but one thing is clear, Gore is trying to steal this one right before your eyes.
