No flames here, just wondering which one you think will be better. Right now, all we can take into consideration is graphics but if this thread lasts until we get more information, we can debate that too. It's a tough call basically because I haven't seen any movies for Unreal 2. The in game screenshots look very impressive but I'm not sure how it handles lighting and shadows whereas I know how DOOM 3 handles them. I generally like colorful games so at the moment, Unreal 2 looks slightly better (only slightly). Here's a screenshot to show you what I mean. http://www.zdnet.com/gamespot/filters/products/screens/0,11105,472314-15,00.html

The most important feature to me is the level design. I just hope that in both games the gameplay takes place more often in large open areas, I hate running around inside a building (eg Doom2, Half Life) because I will get a pounding headache after playing for more than 5 minutes

not to mention you get lost easily. but I think for a game to be better than the other you really have to look at maps and gameplay. I presonally think that q3a is a bit too chaotic to play. and generally don't have a sense of teamwork even in ctf games.

WoW, this is a very tough one. I think they will both be great in their own way, but from the pics, Unreal 2 looks better. Now, I havent really seen good shots of Doom 3 so I can't really compare the two yet.

Well since I haven't seen a lot of media on either of them its hard to tell. Personally I liked Unreal Tournament better than Quake3 Arena and because of this reason I am looking forward to Unreal2 more. I must say that based on the few pics that I have seen at Unreal2's website the game looks like its going to kick major ass!

I'm starting to believe that TF2 is nothing but a myth to spur interest into Valve and Sierra, inspiring people to buy more copies and expansions/addons for Half-Life.
