Allright. i need some more opinions. here's what happened. last night i went to this bar with my friend lori and met this girl. i kissed her a little bit and got her phone number etc. this is never hard for me. the hard part is when i call them the next day. I know notin is going to tell me to just ask her out to dinner or a movie or something, but i am soooo damn poor right now. i didnt have a job for about a month and i am playing catchup. so what should i say when i call her? i hate this. it's like having a check right in your hands and having now idea how to cash it.

P.S. this happens a lot. i have about 6 girls phone numbers in my wallet that i havent called back. i must look like a total jerk.

You don't HAVE to ask her on a date the first time you call. Just call and talk to her. Ask her how she is, how her day was etc. Find out more about her. ::nod::

Yes, going out can be cheap, even if you go to a bar for a few drinks and then go walking or something "romantic" like that.

Yeah, i guess that makes sense. I just feel so damn awkward calling girls. i hate it. it just drives me nuts! I have a bunch of DVD's here so maybe i'll ask her if she wants to watch a movie.

Isn't there anything to do in your area that doesn't cost alot? Ask her to go for walk or something like that. Just find out more about her and what she likes to do.

IMHO I don't think getting into a theator for free is a bad thing. I think it's cool. C'mon, you've got the hookup. I don't see why it would make you look cheap or poor.

I was at that bar last night with my friend lori, my roommate laura, and my friend chris and the all found out that i slept with my ex girlfriend last sunday. boy were they pissed. my roommate is the nicest girl that you would ever meet, but she hates my ex girlfriend with a vengance. so do chris and lori, but they mostly hate her because of the way she treated me. that and i burned my tattoo playing some stupid see-who-is-a-tougher-guy game. i felt like a retard because of that this morning.

It's not a bad thing, but it's not neccesarily good for a first date. If a guy took me to a theatre free for a first date, i don't know what i'd think. but most girls wouldn't be impressed at all. i can tell you that. save the free theatre for the second or third or so.

Oh, you could also go to an art gallery. [another suggestion. dunno if you like art or not.]

We'll see. i wish it was warmer here so i could go outside somewhere. There is this really cool place that i know of that has a whole view of reno. it's the 9th hole at this golf course. it's pretty cool. it's right on this big hill, and right below it is this huge lake with the hole on it. then it has this huge view of the city. pretty cool. but it's too cold to go there this time of the year. i hate winter. unless i'm snowboarding.

There arent really any art galleries here. (reno is about the most culture free city in the world.) Actually now that i think of it, there might be one downtown, but i'm not sure. there is this really cool coffee shop that i know of that i might bring her to as well.

Sorry, forgot you were in reno. hehe. Coffee shops are good too, but just make sure they don't charge an arm and a leg for their coffee.. it'd do you no good to only have one arm and leg... hopping on one foot gets rather awkward after a while

BTW, i had this killer drink the other day. you take coors lite in a glass and then put a shot glass in the middle of it with root bee flavored schnapps in it and you drink the whole thing down. you would think it would taste like hell, but it was really good! but you have to use coors lite. anything else just tastes wrong....

another really good one is mixing stolyichnaya ,(certainly spelled wrong), vanilla vodka and mixing it with orange juice. it's great!

The drink around here is called a Flaming Dr. Pepper. It consists of a shot of Amaretta toped with B151. You light the top layer of 151, drop the shot glass in the beer and slam it. It tastes like Dr. Pepper.

On the being broke deal, hmmmmm....Reminds me of college. I usually just asked them to meet me at a local bar or went rollerblading.

I would recommend staying with something simple if you're strapped for cash. Movie at home sounds good.

I recently had my first Flaming Dr. Pepper...very good. How about this: A healthy shot of Absolut Citron, then equal amounts of Sour Apple Pucker (I know, I know, but trust me) and Sprite. It tastes just like a Sour Apple Blow Pop!

Well, usually the strategy just involves saying something really goofy and seeing if the girl plays along. if she does, she's cool. if not, she's gone. last night i got introduced to that girl and we were both a little drunk and she like the spike in my lip. (i have my labret pierced with a spike in it) i just told her that it could be a little cumbersome sometimes and she asked how and i told her that i would like to demonstrate and i just planted one on her. the best part was that she said she kinda liked it! hehehe. i dig girls like that. i was leaving and i asked her for her number and i told her that i would call her tonight. she's pretty cute. about 5'8" and has hair that is kind of shorter and naturally dark, but you can tell that she bleached it once so the ends are blonde. and she's got those kind of librarian looking glasses.

so i called that chick that i met at the bar, and she turned out to be pretty cool. she's a journalism major at the university of nevada, reno, and she's a senior. i was pretty stoked because she called me! we had a pretty cool conversation even though it was somewhat awkward at times, but in that cute kind of awkward, not uncomfortable.

Girls rule!It's a very good sign that she called. Most guy's don't get the hint if they call a girl five or six times and she's "busy" or "out" they just need to stop wasteing their time. But it's great that she called. Just remember to stay cool and not get all freaked out and call her all the time. Chicks hate that.

I like to play hard to get...I only call them maybe once a week...heh...

You don't have to ask her out the next day. Call, chat a bit, and remember she will probably be nervous too, but you can maybe figure out after a few minutes of a non-alcohol induced conversation if you think she is even someone you'd like to see again. A fancy restaurant isn't needed. Like, one of the BEST dates I've ever been on was: a quick stop at McDonald's then of to the park for an outdoor lunch and a day of looking at the flowers and feeding the ducks. Doing things like this also helps break the ice - when you can't think of something more personal to say you can talk about the things you're seeing outdoors and not have to suffer through lags in conversation (which can easily happen when two people who don't know each other spend time alone for the first time)

A comment to some one who mentioned "playing hard to get" - life is too short to wait around on a guy playing games. Playing hard to get may seem cute at first, but after a couple days it gets way too old
