Half-Life: best game ever?
By Superpabs13 March 10, 2001, 10:30 PM

personally i feel that Half-LIfe: and its mods (CS, TFC, Firearms ect) is the best game ever made. Though its graphics have been surpassed, for fun factor alone nothing beats a few hours of CS or TFC.

new games come and go but half-life
is still one of my favorites.
when all else fails its time for
half-life

well for the ending, half life left a bad taste in my mouth, but it was and still is the best game, it could just of got a better ending, the alien part SUCKED.

anyway, some masterpieces on PC imo other than HL, system shock2 and thief2 are in my list of best games ever played on PC.

The 3rd pary mods are what makes HL so popular. Personally, I didn't find anything spectacular about the singleplayer story. The storyline was very cliched. Nothing spectacular about the weapons either. I know the two games aren't very comparable, but I liked Thief a lot more than HL.

Half-Life is good but I wouldn't say the best game of all time. And the single player ruled, just the ending's that sucked (Opposing Forces ending SUCKED. I wanted to kill Gordon!!!)

I'm certainly in agreement..

The only other game to suck me into it like HL was the first Wizardry.

So yes, it will be hard to beat.

halflife op4 tfc csf they all ruled in multiplayer on the net or at lan partys. been playing them since they came out. Whats it been 2 years. crap could it be 2 years I have wasted away. Thats a scary thought. I tried mech 4. Its all right graphics are cool. Seems to take to long to pound the crap out of the other mechs to die. Plus the long walking around.
Just picked up tribes today for 12.00 at ebx played threw the traing missons. Played alittle on line but It seems they dont like newbees got kicked from 4 servers in 30 mins or so. No I didnt spam or shoot team mates
or ask any questions.(you know how do you jet pack, how do you fire such and such)
I have a post in this forum but ill ask here to.
Any newbee tolarent servers for tribes.

any ways tribes could be just as could as tfc. Except for the intolerenc (sp) of newbees.

I think it is. I got sucked into it like never before. Its is in my opinion The Game

half-life is to the late 90s is what quake is to 95-97. TF, CTF, and how many other countless mods(paroxysm was a little known one i thorougly enjoyed) were made for it. I never got into the HF mod scene(i think the sp is awsome tho) due to time constraints.

Used to be my favorite game...now dungeon keeper 2 is getting all of my attention. Before I know it, been sittin there for 4 or 5 hours and time to go to bed.

Hmm, for single-player, I think i preferred Deus Ex and Maybe System Shock 2 (i haven't actually gotten round to finishing that yet, hence the maybe)

There is, however, no doubt in my mind that for multi-player, Half Life rules the coop. Fragging friends and relatives is one of the best ways to have fun, and Half Life def. has the best mods for this!
