I have need for speed 3. Sweet game. I want to know what other racing games are good out their, preferibly off-road racing. I don't want any nascar or any drive-around-in-a-big-circle-for-an-hour games.

Is NFS: 5 the sames as NFS: Porche Unleashed? Or is a new NFS? I love the hole Need4Speed series (I had a demo of NFS: 1 on an old computer, all it was good for was some incredible crashes, but I was hooked). I'm currently running NFS: High Stakes and I love it.By the by: I need a good joystick/steering wheel. You can't drive for crap with a D-pad. I need an anolog stick or wheel. Anyone know of a good inexpensive one?

THE best off-road game IMHO is Insane from codemasters. It has the best driving model, best damage model and the best tracks. Moreover, where the game really shines is the excellent multiplayer play modes. Capture the flag is not the same anymore once you tried it with 4wd cars. This game has become the favourite in our LAN-parties... In addition, there is a free demo version out there. You can get it for example from www.codemastersusa.com/insane The demo has 2 tracks & two car models. It also has multiplayer enabled, so you can also test how do you like it in network. BTW: the game takes full advantage of T&L acceleration, so if your video card supports the feature, you're in for some very nice graphics...

Cool, thanks you guys, I love the NFS series and would love to add too it. The reason why I like NFS3 is because I can run from the police. I just bought Insane, right before I read your post on it. Awsome offroad game!! Best I've seen. As for joysticks I have the precision pro 2 from microsoft, didn't want to cash out for the force feedback version. I suggest any one of the microsoft joysticks, granted the more you spend the better the stick.

midtown madness 2 is a great multiplayer wise. Porche unleashed is good too, though it takes some time to actually be able to handle the cars right.
