Final Fantasy IX

Anyone else think this games a masterpiece? I'm only on the second disc right now, but I'm blown away at the FMV sequences and overall storyline. I'm glad they went back to fantasy type games rather than futuristic type. I still love FFVII and FFVIII though. The people at Squarsoft are gods and should be worshiped by all!

hmm FF9 is good? I loved FF series: I finished FF7 for 100 SAVED playhours without any FAQ(ok..except chocobo section). I loved it! but I got badly burned by FF8. I played until 70 hours in save but it is no fun to play more. I even bought official strategy guide book (I have never bought guild for rpg) and I figured how boring it would then quit playing. I dissapointed so much, I didn't consider to buy any new FF series. Is FF9 is significantly better than FF8? curious.

Dude!! Listen to me! Final Fantasy IX is FAR superior to Final Fantasy VIII. It is also better than Final Fantasy VII, not by much though. Get this game!!!! Possibly the best Final Fantasy game ever, SERIOUSLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yea. FF9 is the best at least since II/IV, possibly ever. FF8 was ok. I guess it was a good game for the masses, but it really broke from the FF tradition, and Squall pissed me off so many times I can't even count. FF9 is really great though. They brought it back to a fantasy world (think II/IV) rather than the technological world of late, and included a remarkable complex story, but not so complex that you get lost like you could in FF7. The characters are some of the most dynamic personalities I've encountered in a game, and they aren't at all trite or tiresome as the FF8 characters were. I can't say enough good things about this one.
