Serious Sam Test2
By AMDAngel December 21, 2000, 05:09 PM

Ok, I am sure some gaming mag's are ranting and raving about how good this game is, But...... Am I the only one who thinks its a pile of horse crap? I feel like I am playing Doom again, But its not as cool.

With games like Hitman, Deus Ex and Project IGI out how can this be put out to compete with those great title's?

Well I just wanted to think what yall thought about it since I feel like I am in high school again running around with a chain saw on a 486..

Alright people. I've had enough. AMD is a registered trademark of ME. Anyone who includes AMD in their screen name will hereby officially get whined at by me. AND serious sam isn't crap. Quake 3 is crap. Stupid piece of shit with no storyline.

By AMDAngel December 21, 2000, 07:59 PM

What a intelligent and usefull responce.

*Sigh*

As for Q3 being a piece of crap, It has one of the largest player base in the online gaming community.

P.S. Anyone whining at me for using AMD in my name will get whined at.

AMD_Forever, chill for goodness' sakes! Wasn't AMD_Soldier the first to have AMD in his nick? Why doesn't anyone have Intel in his nick? Hmm?

There's that guy with "P4-1.5Ghz" or something.

To Keep this post on topic, I will say that I like Serious Sam. It does indeed remind me of being in high school again, running around with a chain saw, using my 9800 baud to call up a friend and play DOOM...BUT I like that feeling! I think it has a beautiful engine and I like the simplistic gameplay. I think it will be a nice FPS addition to my collection, but it won't break any new ground (like Hitman Codename 47 does). I think of it like an emulator...taking me back in the day.

I love Quake3... it was never intended to have any interesting storyline. It's all about the multiplayer experience of beating the crap out of people on a regular basis. At least that's what I try to do, heh. :P

fine. quake 3 was meant for multiplayer. thats still no excuse. quake 2 had a storyline (although its not a great saga) and still had good multiplay. Good game designers know how to include both storyline and multiplay. quake 3 should have been better. you cannot deny it.

For what it is suppossed to be, it is an AMAZING game. Beautiful engine and HUGH expansive areas. Try that with QIII. This engine will get licensed and we will see some good games with it.

Enough said..

dude, ur just dumb
;-)

can't u understand Y id made Q3A multiplayer only?... and its not like u bought it not knowing there was no story to the game...

Q3A rulez

Serious Sam is just plain fun... it's not a brainstorm of a game, but damn... I miss the DOOM feeling of fighting tons of monsters.... this game brings that feeling back, in a modern looking game (till DOOM3)

Guys, I think Sam wil rock (seriously ).
I've never seen gigantic areas like this in a shooter.
Well the sound fx are sub par, but this will change.
A cool thing is that the guys are working on additional T&L support for Radeon and GF-based cards which will boost performance up to 30% (and I tend to believe that).
