Eidos Interactive has announced that its real-time strategy game for the PC, Fate Of The Dragon, has gone gold and will ship to stores beginning March 12. Developed by Overmax Studio, Fate of the Dragon is based on the 14th century historical Chinese novel entitled Romance of the Three Kingdoms. Fate of the Dragon is set in the confusion following the collapse of the Eastern Han Dynasty. Gamers play the role of one of three rival warlords attempting to take control of their respective territories and set up their own kingdoms, splitting China into three parts. Players are tasked to build their own regime, develop new technologies, and create a mighty army to manage The Three Kingdoms and reunify China.

Fate of the Dragon features three kingdoms, each with unique technologies, buildings and characters realistically modeled from the actual technological, cultural and social development of the era. The players' objective is to establish comprehensive power through production, construction, trade, science and technology, alliances and war. Gamers will embark on political, trade and strategic campaigns to win control of the kingdoms, all of which are based on historically significant events of the Three Kingdoms' period. Fate of the Dragon also includes head-to-head and cooperative multi-player support for up to eight players via LAN or the Internet.
