Young's Modulus is the STRESS of a material divided by it's STRAIN. That is how much the material YIELDS for each pound of load put on it. Put another way, it is a measure of the STRENGTH of a material, and is commonly used to measure the strength of metals and other materials used in aircraft and weapons systems. This is not a game. It is a COMBAT SIMULATOR of what may someday be... the laws of physics will always apply. [Download: DemoNews]

When hardware or software developers incorporate successful ideas from other developers into their own products, it's not called plagiarism, it's called “following the current trend.” So with their WingMan RumblePad, Logitech seems to be “following the current trend” that was set by Sony with their DualShock controller. Well, granted, there are similarities between the two pads, but there's more to the RumblePad than that. Check out our new WingMan RumblePad review!

"The numerous controls make it damned versatile indeed and although it isn't 100% comfortable to hold since it isn't overly rounded in shape, after an hour of use my hands didn't feel ready to drop off like they have with other inferior joypads. The buttons are all nicely responsive, even the trigger buttons which initially felt a touch too hard to press. The analogue sticks also have a decent range of movement so, for example, in a driving game you can gradually increase your speed instead of instantly flooring it since the analogue controls have such a limited range of movement in any direction."

WildTangent has announced plans to release a beta of its new multiplayer capabilities to developers at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) March 20-24. Multiplayer capabilities will expand the functionality of WildTangent's popular Web Driver platform, opening the door to a new level of immersive media content. The ability to interact with other online users in real-time will dramatically expand the range of applications developed on WildTangent's powerful interactive media platform.

WildTangent's Web Driver has made the most demanding and interactive media technology accessible to every Web developer. The new multiplayer capabilities will allow Web developers to design Web pages in Java or JavaScript that communicate in real-time across a corporate LAN or over the Internet, allowing them to create real-time games as well as collaborative applications for the Web. This allows developers to use their existing skills for creating immersive media content for the Internet.

Sensaura has announced the availability of their new PlayStation 2 middleware product - Sensaura 3D Positional Audio (S-3DPA). Sensaura also announced today that the new S-3DPA PlayStation product will be exclusively distributed by Criterion Software Ltd. The product enables game developers, for the first time, to include a number of realistic 3D audio effects and environments in all of their PlayStation2 titles.

S-3DPA uses an exclusive set of algorithms that have been developed together with special filters known as HRTFs (head related transfer functions). These form Sensaura's specialised audio libraries, which are the foundation of Sensaura's technology. Information contained in these libraries acts as a virtual head, simulating the real hearing process, thus making it the most precise 3D positional audio product available.
