Buka Entertainment has just recently released a few new screenshots of "Spells of Gold". In Spells of Gold, gold rules the world... The action of the game is laid in the world of fantasy, inhabited by humans, elves, dwarves, undead ones and other creatures. The universe of the game is large indeed. It consists of a number of separate worlds. Each one has several states, which represent isolated economic and political systems. The Hero is able to transit from one world to another through special space Gates, called Portals. His main activity is trade, that is buying goods in one town and selling or exchanging them in another. For this purpose the Hero has got a special item - a Magic Sack of Monroke. Thanks to it, he can easily carry a vast amount of goods. For more details, check out the Spells of Gold webpage.

The Cyberathlete Professional League has announced that it has acquired a significant interest in the Domain of Games League and that as part of the agreement "Domain of Games" will be renamed to "Cyberathlete Amateur League." The Domain of Games online league was launched on July 20, 2000, primarily as a Counter-Strike league and has attracted over 2,500 gamers nationwide, which have praised the league as one of the best online leagues in the United States.

The Cyberathlete Amateur League or CAL will enable average gamers, such as those who do not have the resources to attend a live professional event, to participate in worldclass online tournaments and earn the right to participate in the Cyberathlete Professional League LAN tournaments. The Cyberathlete Amateur League will initially have a Counter-Strike division, an Unreal Tournament division and an upcoming Quake III division. Possible future divisions include Front Line Force, Team Fortress Classic and Tribes 2.

Pro-gamers or pro-teams that have ranked in the top ten of any Cyberathlete Professional League tournament will not be eligible to participate in the open amateur tournaments of the Cyberathlete Amateur League, but may qualify to participate in the invitation-only online tournaments. The first season games will commence Sunday, April 22, 2001, until then the Cyberathlete Amateur League will be running pre-season matches on all of its divisions and an online qualifier for the SPEAKEASY.net CPL Event.

Square Electronic Arts has announced the release of The Bouncer for the PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system. The Bouncer combines fast-paced fighting action with SQUARESOFT's trademark story-telling skills. Helping to bring the dramatic story to life are the high-resolution graphics and fully-utilized voiceovers. Both features are made possible by the PlayStation 2 system's powerful graphic capabilities and new DVD format, enhancing a dramatic plot by bringing characters to life using details such as subtle facial expressions and almost touchable tattoos. For the voiceovers and dialogue, players can choose from either English or Japanese, both of which can be switched during the course of the game. Further adding to the drama, cut scenes are rendered in real-time allowing for seamless transition in and out of gameplay. The Bouncer is the first PlayStation 2 game to be released with Dolby Digital 5.1 sound.
