Electronic Arts has announced today the release of Clive Barker’s Undying for the PC. Enter a world of arcane magic, supernatural abominations and ancient horror in the first interactive entertainment project from the famed British author, illustrator, director and playwright. Set in Ireland during the 1920s, players take on the role of Patrick Galloway, who has been summoned to an ancestral estate by its lone descendent, Jeremiah. Death has claimed Jeremiah’s four siblings, all of whom have been reanimated and now intend to slay their living brother, the last of the family. To save his friend and unravel the horror that has befallen Jeremiah and his family, Patrick must embark on five perilous quests. The quests will take players to 10 expansive areas of the game including the ancestral estate, a destroyed monastery, the Eternal Autumn and the cursed city of Oneiros. Armed with an arsenal of weapons and spells, players will have to defeat each of the evil siblings in his or her individually corrupted and demonic environment. Along the way, they will have to battle scores of other enemy creatures as well, in order to grasp the greater scope of the horror of Clive Barker’s Undying.

CNet has posted two videos on their website. The first video features the GeForce 3 announcement (and a nice demo of its features) as well as a sneak peak at John Carmack's Doom 3 engine. The bit on Doom 3 is definitely a "must see"! The second video shows Steve Jobs unveiling the new iMacs.

"Art is Dead" and "Boorp's Balls" are the titles of two new games that just went gold for online distribution through Real.com Games.

Art is Dead comes from the UK-based Small Rockets development house, and it is the first Real.com Game to support PC light guns. Art is Dead combines art galleries and shooting galleries to get, presumable, the best of both. Players use their mouse or light gun to target paintings from famous artists like Van Gogh, Raphael, Warhol, Mondrian and Leonardo Da Vinci. Each painting is brought to life with Monty Python-style animations that form the basis for the level objectives.

The second new game, Boorp's Balls, comes from Spanish developer Xpiral and features fluid animations, 50 single-player levels, a head-to-head competitive mode, and fast, strategic game play. Xpiral's previous games include Beetle Crazy Cup and Speed Demons, and the development house recently announced plans to develop games for the Xbox.

The World Wrestling Federation franchise is expected to make its highly anticipated PlayStation(R)2 debut during the fall of this year with "WWF SmackDown!3" (working title). Developed by Yukes Co. of Japan, which is partially owned by THQ, "WWF SmackDown! 3" for PlayStation 2 will feature all the bone crunching, slobber knocking, over the top action that is the World Wrestling Federation. Yukes also developed the chart-topping "WWF SmackDown!" and "WWF SmackDown!2: Know Your Role." "WWF SmackDown! 3" will now pick up where the others left off. It boasts 78 styles of matches, 35 superstars and over 1,000 different moves. There will be six-man tag-team matches and up to nine superstars can face off in the ring simultaneously. Players will be able to rush their opponent as they enter the ring, fight with their own tag team partner after a loss, and distract the referee before performing dastardly deeds. All of this comes complete with play-by-play commentary and a solid 60 frames per second.

NYKO Technologies, Inc. announced it has filed a lawsuit against two companies, Mad Catz and NUBY, who manufacture products similar to NYKO's patented Worm Light accessory. Leading the NPD report's Video Games Accessory list for an entire year, it is little surprise that the Worm Light has spawned copycats by several other manufacturers as well. NYKO has already won five cases against infringing manufacturers and distributors, armed with only a trademark. Now equipped with both a design patent and the recently acquired utility patent, little stands in the way of further victory.

The lawsuit alleges that the technologies used in NUBY's Cobra Light, as well as the Bone Light, Mech Light, and Wild Thing, all manufactured by Mad Catz, are too similar to those protected under NYKO's patents. The patents protect NYKO's intellectual property and production rights to the Worm Light, whose sales comprised more than 25 percent of all portable accessory units sold in December 2000.
