NAME: Joan "Mango" Wood
AGE: 12 going on 60, "it's not the years, it's the mileage" - Indy Jones
EDUCATION: Compulsive reader. Left High School a year early to attend college,
after three terms as a journalism, electronics engineering, film/video production major, eating
became more important. So I emptied wastebaskets for a production company until I read enough camera
manuals to become dangerous.
RANK: Managing Editor, generally irritating know-it-all.
PREVIOUS ENGAGEMENTS: Jungle babe - Mom was a missionary, Pop was a heathen.
Jaunted about the globe with my video camera, 12 shipping cases and a KEVLAR® flack jacket as a
freelance engineer with the likes of ABC News, NBC Sports & Behind the Scenes on Films. Founded
Xatrix Entertainment with two Rednecks and a Frog. Produced Cyberia and that monument to really
expensive rail shooters and full body motion capture, Cyberia2:Resurrection. President of game
development loony bin Mango Grits (Barrage, published by Activision last fall, surely you've
heard of it...) and all around biz wiz. Writing is my secret vice.
COOL STUFF: Wearable PCs. Alternative input devices. Gordon Parks. Kurt Vonnegut.
Indian food, nerds, books and being underwater.
CRAP STUFF: Bad technology, well marketed. Red tape.
CLAIM TO FAME: I'm pretty good with a machete.
