NAME: Alex Ross (but people on the NET call me "Sharky" and some other names I won't mention)

    EMAIL: sharky@sharkyextreme.com

AGE: 26 (old enough to get more than a french-kiss on the first date)

EDUCATION: I'm the 'bright' one on the site 'cos I have a Geography degree from the London School of Economics, which really helps when benchmarking in different world locations.

RANK: I'm the Editor-in-Chief, because I'm from the UK and I speak English properly. Being the E-I-C also means I get to take the flak for the rest of the shoal at Sharky Extreme. I write too. Hardware reviews/previews, game reviews/previews, news and all other junk.

PREVIOUS ENGAGEMENTS: I'm a total slag so bare with me. I've worked for Next-Generation, PC Gamer (US and UK), PC Gaming World. My old dig was Voodoo Extreme and before that I used to interpret from Russian to English for the Ukranian Mafia. Before that I was a pupil at Westminster School and got caught smoking and snogging gal's behind the bike shed more than a couple of times (I didn't get caught often though!). Oh, I was "engaged" once (before I tied the knott).

COOL STUFF: Prada Jumpers and Vivian Westwood trousers (pants are for Americans). The PlayStation 2. 3D cards make me sing and multi TMUs make me dance. Give me Quake3 with a GeForce 2 GTS 64MB overclocked to the max, an MS IntelliPoint Pro Mouse and I'm happy. I also dig racing games and anything with a pint or two of blood in it. Guns are good too, except when in the wrong hands (think of the Brit' charachter (Simon) in the movie "GO"). I like games that show evidence of Anisotropic Filtering, Bump mapping, shock waves and colored lighting. I like Ice-Lollies, Scousers and Vodka too. In the past I would rated TrainSpotting as the groviest flick on the planet and would have gone to each and every Prodigy or Fluke gig. Nowadays "Go" is my movie of choice and I do like a bit of a Rave. Yes sir, Paul Oakenfold, John Digweed, Sasha and BT are all great live with some glow sticks, lights and a good crowd. Thanks to Water, Sharks, Unreal Tournament, Pinkdot, Icelollies and In & Out for making me a happy camper. No thanks to Tottenham Hot Spurs and the England football team for giving me so much grief over the years.

NASTY STUFF: Golf games (that includes 'real-time') give me cold sores, any Jaws sequel makes me eat Ratatui. Baseball. Fishing and Fishing games with Force Feedback support! What a pollava? I don't do Flight sims or RPGs. And TV-Out sucks almost as much as a console (except for the Dreamcast). Daikatana, Space Bunnies Must Die, Arsenal and the German Football team, the Diamond Viper II box which says "T&L" on it. Ravers that still blow whistles and E.

FAVORITE MUSIC: BT, Paul Oakenfold, John Digweed, Crystal Method, Chemical Brothers, The Prodigy and Monkey Mafia. I like Indie too, Echobelly, Pulp and The Levelers are all gift bands too.
FAVORITE MOVIES: Jaws, Trainspotting and Go on the big screen and The Sopranos and Wallace & Grommit on the telly.

CLAIM TO FAME: I used to model for Valentino and Paul Smith back in my school days in the early 90s. Unfortunately both said designers came out of their 'drunkard' phase in the mid-90s and I haven't done any shoots since (the long floppy "public school-boy" hair was "in" then). I broke my nose playing for the School Football team too, which didn't help either. Oh, and I brought down Reuters News Agency in 1979 when they first installed computers there and I got my mitts on them. I've also been known to spew in the back of a Limo at certain Entertainment Shows.
